Clackamas Promenade Shoe Mill location remodel!

The store originally opened in April of 1989 as a SAS Concept shop. The location was one of the first SAS Footwear semi concept shops in the country. The Habre family partnered with SAS to develop a comfort shoe store, which at the time was a bold new strategy. As the comfort store proved successful, and new products were being developed, the need to carry additional brands arose. With the additional brands the store transitioned to a multi brand location in May of 1992. Since 1992 the store has displayed the signs - Shoe Mill • SAS Shoes.

SAS shoes remain a strong brand and many additional brands have been added over the years. Shoe Mill stores pioneered new brands in the United States like Birkenstock, ECCO, UGG, Keen, Merrell, Dansko, Blundstone and many more over the years. As the comfort concept continued to develop, a tag line was born – Shoe Mill, We Put the World at Your Feet! Due to the diverse product mix from around the world.

For nearly my entire life the Clackamas Promenade Shoe Mill store has operated with minor cosmetic updates. Today, 2/12/2018 we're closing the store for a major update. We’re replacing carpet, walls, and the late 90’s era neon signs above the store front. The goal is to be open for business on Friday 2/16/2018!

*EDIT* - The remodel is continuing through Friday, the new scheduled open date is Saturday 2/17/2018. Click the link below for progress as of Thursday :) https://business.facebook.com/ShoeMillOregon/videos/10155337490728310/

My 3 brothers and my cousin represent the third generation of Shoe Mill. We work alongside the second generation sibling owners Ed and Tamara, who are wonderful entrepreneurs and parents. We as a family are so thankful for the support over the years!

While it’s a bit strange to see the last of the original Shoe Mill store concepts go, it’s time for an update. Thank you Kimco Realty for the confidence you’ve shown in a local retailer! With the help of the Clackamas community we will make you proud!

Thank you,
