By Joel Habre, VP of Marketing for the Shoe Mill stores
We are honored to announce that Shoe Mill and our President/CEO Ed Habre have been name “The 2017 Retailer of the Year“ by the National Shoe Retailers Association (NSRA).
In presenting the award, former NSRA Chairman Alan Miklofsky of Alan’s Shoes, Tucson Arizona said, “Ed is a very strong leader and the success of Shoe Mill would not be possible over either the short term or the long term without a good leader who grasps concepts, solicits and accepts critiques of his business, works tireless hours, delegates properly, supervises in a well-balanced manner, executes flawlessly and maintains an infrastructure that supports the focus for sales and service.”
We are very thankful for the recognition, and want to thank our wonderful staff that made this award possible.
Family Business
Shoe Mill was founded in 1978 by Eddie and Rachel Habre. A dedicated husband and wife team who spent many years forming the foundation of our business which was successfully transferred from the first generation to the second. The second generation leaders are the children of the founders Ed Habre and his sister Tamara St. Cyr. Ed and Tamara have expanded the business to seven retail locations and a strong online presence.
Customer Service
Our company operates with 8 core values which we believe are an ideal blend for a customer service organization. Customer focus, team oriented and healthy accountability for customer service standards and overall company support. Over our years in business we have found that providing excellent customer service is more than providing quality merchandise; the key is a caring and attentive sales staff who are genuinely interested in helping customers. We firmly believe in our sales staff and empower each individual with continued education in footwear, foot health and overall customer relationships. We are so thankful for the customer service professionals that operate our stores!
In the Community
Shoe Mill is keen on taking opportunities to help nonprofit organizations in our community. Working together with John and Anna Canzano, Shoe Mill has been a contributing member of the Bald Faced Truth Foundation – Link which supports children in our community with funds and supplies for schools and after school programs. John Canzano is a sports radio broadcaster who has a passion for sports and became aware of the lack of funding for school sports. He is determined to give back to the community which supports him. Additionally Shoe Mill supports the Soles4Souls organization, a global nonprofit which collects gently worn footwear and distributes around the world.
Thank you to our customers for allowing us to put the world at their feet. We love what we do, and we hope to keep our community comfortable for many years to come.
